Multi-Way Accessories

One way to save some money on looking fabulous is choosing multi-way accessories instead of "traditional" pieces. We've been tinkering around with this idea, to give our clients better value for their money. Here are some of the pieces we've made recently.

1. CATALINA: Originally this was a layered necklace using semi-precious stones. We decided to provide additional options for the wearer. Using a special lock, she change the design and length of the necklace. The best of all this multi-way's features is, the design gives the wearer a choice to wear the necklace on casual and special occasions.

2. NICOLA BY NOVI: This necklace was designed by one of our most experienced beaders. A two-necklace design and bracelet in one piece.

3. IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN: This necklace comes with a matching bracelet. The great thing about this set is that the wearer has different options on what way to wear her necklace. She can change the position of the  embellished accent,  or she can detach the piece all together, and still wear the layered chains separately.

4. AMATULLAH: Our bead embroidery pieces are designed to be statement necklaces, and are usually reserved to be worn on very special occasions. However with this customized signature piece, the last three patterns are detachable, which each individual pattern being able to be worn as its own unique bracelet. So if you're feeling bold, or if you just want to be laid back yet still make a statement, wear the piece in its simplest form.

Bracelet Sizing Guideline

Purchasing from boutiques gives you more freedom to try on accessories, but what if you can't fit a piece you love because it's sold online?  In the internet age, wherein virtual stores are becoming "the boutiques", it is a plus to know your own measurements. Not only that,  if you plan to have your bracelet customized or handmade, over the internet, knowledge of your personal measurements is a huge advantage.

Charmed, I'm Sure: Charm Bracelets

It is said that the wearing of charm bracelets date back to prehistoric times, and was used to ward away evil spirits. The charms may also signify the individual's identification to the gods in the afterlife. In modern times charm bracelets have become an accessory to complete a wardrobe, though some still wear them for good luck; wishing for good fortune in the form of health, money and fame.  Gems, stones, wood or metal charms are incorporated into overall design of the bracelet.

For this post, we focus on our single rhodium chain charm bracelets from the Awit ng Ibong Adarna Collection. Using the technique we recently discovered, we used the beaded flower as the main charm of the bracelet and added crystals around the chain.

Here are some ways you can wear them two at a time.

1) Wear it on a casual day with your favorite sheer loose polo, paired with tight jeans and ballet flats. Wear two of our Awit ng Ibong Adarna single rhodium chain charm bracelets together in one wrist.

2) Wear it to the office. A simple, clean-cut pleated dress with a classic, yet contemporary cover up coupled with pumps, suggests an aura of female power dressing. Wearing slacks isn't the only way to show how serious you are at work. Add a touch of femininity to your outfit with two dainty charm bracelets.

3) Wear it on a date night, or on a special occasion. Show some skin without overdoing it. Keep a veil of mystery, by wearing a long pleated flowing skirt. Break the bareness of your wrist by wearing charm bracelets.  Hear the chains and beads jangle as you dance your way to the night.

Whatever the reason maybe, charm bracelets will never loose its "charm".

Snowflakes in Summer

Our strength is customization. We understand the psychology of women's desire to wear one-of-a-kind pieces, and we are at their command.

One of our latest custom-made pieces is this enchanting  snowflake-inspired set.  The challenge for us in creating this set were:
- Sewing a pattern on a cut out white felt as large as coin
- Using mainly white and clear beads to create the feel of a snowflake

Though we are used to sewing patterns using seed and cut beads, the smaller space to sew the patterns on proved to be more challenging, and following the snowflake-edged felt was even more difficult. To add using white beads on hand-stitched bead embroidery tends to make patterns look flat.

With a lot of patience and dedication, we came out with this pattern, and upon approval of our client  turned them into a bracelet with snowflake metal charm and fresh water pearls paired with a set of dangling earrings.

Nothing makes us happier than being able to execute our client's preferences!

Treasure in Loose Materials

Over the years of making accessories, we have accumulated excess materials from previous projects. We make it our personal motto not to throw away materials so that they're available for future use. Sometimes new designs present themselves from these loose materials.

This necklace belonged to our Teardrops Collection for 2011. We gathered loose materials in hues of brown, orange and pink. Using wiring we bunched the loose beads to form the main design of this necklace.  The materials used were shells, murano, mother of pearl and agate stones.

In making this fabric-felt cuff, we used the remaining laces from our lace wrapped bangle collection. Since we had  a lot of gem-like craft beads at our disposal, we used them to decorate this cuff.

This piece, Letters to Calypso, is a combination of wax thread, assorted German Crystals and seed beads. We have been stocking the wax thread for a long a time while the assorted German Crystals on the other hand were from a previous project.

And our Stillness of the Butterfly cuffs and necklaces continue to be our bestseller even after a year of its release.

Before buying new materials, we try our best to make the best use of materials on hand, especially in creating new collections. With a pinch of resourcefulness and imagination, new designs are born. Share your new treasures with us. Leave a link to your blog and let's share ideas!
