Hiraya Scarf Necklace Tops This Year's Gift List

The big holiday rush has started! It's time to scout and hunt for that perfect Christmas present. However, I simply don't have the time and energy to visit malls and bazaars. Luckily enough, Palamuti has an array of wonderful gifts that I can choose from. Topping my list is this season's bestseller, the Hiraya scarf necklaces, which are embellished with a variety of stones, pearls, shells, and beads.

This is a wonderful addition to anyone's collection, as most people are fond of using plain scarves for the most part. I love the idea that it's a necklace and scarf in one, which gives a much-needed boost to a plain-looking wardrobe style. The fabric is very lightweight and soft to on skin, and it doesn't encumber me, unlike other wool or cotton scarves that my Grammy used to give me.

Hiraya comes in different colors and lengths, and you can even create your own design, since Palamuti accommodates requests for customization. It boasts the best quality, as the materials used came from excellent sources and manufacturers. It became a very popular gift item, even gaining some attention from the local press.

Hiraya can be worn over formal dresses and it is perfect to wear for work. If you're looking for a gift to give your boss, clients, or office colleagues; this item is a perfect choice. See how they manage to work this versatile piece with their office attires:

“Palamu-Tea Party” Receives Warm Support

Congratulations to Palamuti for a successful event last Saturday afternoon, November 16, 2013. They held their first-ever trunk show in Project 8 Quezon City, Philippines. Entitled "Palamu-Tea Party", this simple gathering received warm support from selected guests that took part in the growth and success of Palamuti by PJ Valenciano custom jewelries.

Artisan PJ Valenciano, together with Kim Basa from the shop's partner brand Amaya Accents, showcased special pieces and attractive creations from their very own collections. Guests marveled at seeing the pieces up close, and had fun trying out the items. The afternoon celebration's refreshments were homemade pastries and a variety of tea drinks for attendees.

"This was a good exercise for Palamuti and Amaya Accents," says PJ Valenciano. "It's been a great opportunity to meet new friends and catch-up with old ones, and for everyone to have an exchange of ideas in an informal tea party setting." Their future plans include more trunk shows such as this; with the hope that Palamuti will be able to reinforce its business identity, explore customer perspectives, and also spread its advocacy to other people.

Hosting a trunk show is a very well-known activity in the fashion industry, and it has helped a lot of designers and artists boost their sales and gain important market information. Palamuti benefited in a similar manner as well, showing their handmade jewelry line to their loyal customers, and a number of attendees took the opportunity to purchase items during the event.

Several trunk shows line up the schedule of the two brands early next year. Palamuti invites their customers to host their very own private trunk show featuring  Palamuti by PJ Valenciano collections to their family and friends in an intimate setting. Interested clients can contact info@palamutishop.com in the Philippines or michelle@palamutishop.com for arrangements in Los Angeles, California area.

Palamuti and Amaya Accents extends their appreciation to all their loyal customers who took part in this event. The brand owners appreciate the fact that it wouldn’t have been a fun-filled afternoon if it weren't for the presence of their wonderful guests who took the time to participate in making this activity a success.

We will be holding another private selling event at the Glambox Airbrush Cosmetics Studio in Makati on November 30, 2013. Hope to see you there!

Wire Art Wonders: Weaving Women's Lives

It is wonderful to see a wire art turned into a masterpiece jewelry, but it is more admirable to know that they are made by the hands of women the Palamuti is helping.

For two years now, Palamuti by PJ Valenciano has been providing opportunities to women from urban poor communities. as a commitment to the business' social responsibilities. It is the business' fulfillment to see its craftswomen succeed by not just having to earn money for their families but also to cultivate skills that they can be proud of.

The photos above are handcrafted by Novi, the lead in-house beader of Palamuti by PJ Valenciano. Her talent in jewelry-making was honed by her two years experience in beading, wiring, and embellishing designs, as trained by PJ herself.

Novi, Palamuti's in-house beader

A collection of her work, the "Age of Innocence", is a tribute to her excellence as she inspires other women beaders to continually excel and aspire for success. Novi played with acrylic crystals, mother of pearl, faux pearls, semi precious stones to produce a number of impressive pieces, thus forming the said collection.
