Her Story, Her Creations: Flowerfly

This Flowerfly Necklace is designed by Kriz, our 23 year-old hearing-impaired artisan, who hails from Bulan, Sorsogon.  She came to us as a natural born artist, and was assigned to make complicated and high-level technique pieces in just short amount of time. Her hearing disability prevents her from getting traditional working opportunities, until she was referred to us by her sister Liza, who best knew her artistic side, to become one of Palamuti artisans. Her dream is to be able to help and support her family, and to someday provide a better life for all of them.

Casual to Chic: Baby Tee and Scarf

My wardrobe comprises of both printed and plain tops, which gives me a wider range of selections to wear,  depending on my mood and the occasion. As much as I invest in printed tops, I make sure to keep the basics like the infamous baby tee. I keep neutral plain baby tees which are great to wear on a daily basis, and can be easily paired with minis, pants and shorts, whether denim or khaki. To level up my style, I usually accessorize. One way is using scarves! You'd be amazed at how a simple scarf can take a casual baby tee--- to fashionably chic.

Wearing Bead Embroidered Necklaces

Have you always been curious about wearing embellished necklaces? What if you don't have any idea where to start? Before purchasing bead embroidered necklaces, ask yourself if what you plan on getting fits your personality and taste. When it comes to reinventing yourself through accessorizing, do so without going overboard. Whenever you choose any fashion staple, even if it means changing layered chains to statement necklaces, it should always reflect who you are, when these fashion staples are worn. Certain items of clothing are meant to enhance, not to be the focus, of your wardrobe. Always keep one important thing in mind: it's all about you.

To jump from simple and laid back accessories, to statement or concept pieces, here are some general tips:

1. Start with simple patterned pieces or with designs that you'll be comfortable wearing.

2.  Choose pieces with a neckline that will enhance your facial shape.

3. Make sure that the measurements, particularly the length of the necklace, complements your body type. For example, if you are petite: stick with a smaller embellished necklace

4. Always think ahead  to the 'where' and 'when' you want to wear your embellished necklace. There are designs that go with a white casual tee, but can also take you to a black tie event.

5, Make sure that the design is appropriate for your age.

Power Dressing with a Scarf

If you're the type who's not fond of wearing fine or costume jewelry, yet still a person looking for ways to tweak your office look, you may want to consider wearing a scarf to upgrade your office wardrobe. A simple scarf can achieve a "dress to impress" look, and you can definitely incorporate your personality by choosing the right scarf design.  It doesn't have to be winter or cold outside to wear a scarf. Since there a lot of designs based on material, usage and functionality, scarves can be worn several ways besides the classical drape. So if you're bored wearing scarves the traditional way, you can experiment with bunny ears, waterfalls, and other ways of wearing a scarf.
