Cruising in London

I am so lucky to have friends like Zoe, who gets to travel as part of her profession. Another perk of the job is that she gets to add fun to her traveling adventures with a bit of fashion styling. I have always known Zoe to have a love for theater and fashion, so it was no surprise for me that she also enjoys styling herself and her friends as well, with her travel destinations as her impromptu backdrops. Here are some photos of Zoe's friend wearing our Pinangga hand-beaded embroidered scarves, as they cruise along London. These were shot during the last weeks prior to Spring in London.
All neutrals with the Pinangga Scarf as the main accessory.
Adding a beret hat to the ensemble.
With Buckingham Palace as the backdrop to Zoe's stylish travel companion.
Two looks. Can you spot the difference? :)
It's great to see how our handmade products reach international destinations. It's as though I get to experience your travel destinations with you. I may not be there, but with our pieces, such as the Pinangga scarves, I am able to take in and share in the wonderful place that is London. Pinangga Bead Embroidery Scarves will soon be available at PALAMUTISHOP.COM

Power Dressing for the Modern Woman

One of the most challenging tasks of a successful career woman is finding an appropriate wardrobe for corporate, creative, and even casual work environments.Scour stores, both online and physical, and you’re bound to find out that it’s very much like Venus’ asking Psyche to sort out a mass of mixed grains.
Finding an appropriate piece seems more of a setback, especially if someone in your circle of professionals already owns it.  There is also a preconceived notion that the only color options available are basic black or the price is often too steep. The good news is, there are many designers out there, having left the corporate world to start their very own fashion brand, who feel your pain.
Today, there is no shortage of stylish, office-appropriate, and affordable clothes catering to the modern career woman. A unique and elegant wardrobe is one of the tools that professional women can utilize to empower themselves while climbing up the ladder and striving for their career goals.
Keep in mind that there is no “magic dress” specifically designed to match every woman. Don’t be afraid to try out a wide range of silhouettes, until you come across a style that flatters your body. You should also consider the setting where you’ll be wearing your attire; such as conservative boardrooms or the dressed-down environment of creativity-based companies. Always remember that you’re a part of a new generation of professional women who shouldn’t have to sacrifice quality or style, for price.

Power Dressing with a Scarf

If you're the type who's not fond of wearing fine or costume jewelry, yet still a person looking for ways to tweak your office look, you may want to consider wearing a scarf to upgrade your office wardrobe. A simple scarf can achieve a "dress to impress" look, and you can definitely incorporate your personality by choosing the right scarf design.  It doesn't have to be winter or cold outside to wear a scarf. Since there a lot of designs based on material, usage and functionality, scarves can be worn several ways besides the classical drape. So if you're bored wearing scarves the traditional way, you can experiment with bunny ears, waterfalls, and other ways of wearing a scarf.

Accessorizing for Formal Events

Attending a formal event? We girls always fret when we get invited to events, especially when the word "formal" is finely printed on the invitation card. Some of us know what to do, others need a pinch of magic, to help their struggle looking for the perfect outfit.

In dressing up for formal occasions, one thing is expected from you. It's not wearing the most expensive clothing, shoes or jewelry, but being presentably suited for what the gathering calls for. You can choose to spend on items from head to toe, but if you are a practical consumer,, you'd know how to utilize resources.

What women fail to see,  is that sometimes, accessorizing can be a powerful tool.

1. Invest in Shawls and Cover-Ups

2. Invest in Embellished Pieces or Statement Necklaces

3. Invest in Pearls

4. Invest in Set Crystal Accessories

5. Invest in Brooches

6. Invest in Embellished Belts

Spring Wedding

Spring reminds us of renewal and new life. It's the time of year when we bid goodbye to winter and we begin usher in a time of growth. It is also a great season to tie the knot with your significant other, and to pledge your undying love by getting married.

Start your Spring wedding plans now, so that everything will be perfect, in time for next year. Take inspiration from the awakening of the earth; here are some tips on how you can pull off a Spring themed wedding by accessorizing.

1. Choose your motif by taking your inspiration from nature. Nature is the best reference for color palettes to use on your Spring Wedding. If you are having a hard time getting inspiration from nature, refer to Pantone for a simplified version of suggested Spring Colors.

2. Incorporate flowers in your accessories in the form of headpiece, bracelet or necklace. You can also let your female entourage wear flower wreaths made of fresh flowers. Another option is to use fabric-lace, or homegrown material flowers, then provide matching buttonaires for the groom's men.

3. Decorate your wedding effects; such as your unity candle and match, wedding cord, coin purse, ring pillows, and get them  in line for a Spring Concept.

4. Choose a veil with flower laces. An even better way to make your gear standout from the typical all white veil is to ask your designer to add beads to your veil based on your Spring motif.

5. Another practical way to execute your theme is through your shoes and bags. Purchase a pair of shoes and bag which you can use even after your wedding. Opt to deviate from the streamlined traditional white shoes.

Dawn of Pre-Nup Photo Shoots

“Prenuptial photos are professionally shot photographs of the soon-to-wed couple, taken before their wedding day. They’re unusually more informal than the traditional wedding pictures taken on the church steps or before the altar, and can center on themes or places you and your fiancé have in mind. While they’re not absolutely necessary, many couples opt to get them as additional keepsakes for the wedding or as mementoes to showcase during the reception or include with the giveaways. “ - Points and Clicks: Prenuptial photo shoot basics revealed by Zoe Gabe (Manila Bulletin)

Over the years, we have seen the growth in the wedding industry. Wedding expos and fairs nowadays are frequently organized, starting from January until the last quarter of the year, by many different event planners. Weddings have truly become an industry of its own rite, spawning suppliers competing to book as many soon-to-weds as they can in a year.

Truth be told, being a supplier for a wedding is a very lucrative venture. A one day affair of a couple celebrating their love with their friends and family, takes so much planning and preparation. It is no wonder that many suppliers target soon-to-weds, and are eager to pay a hefty amount just to join wedding expos, where soon-to-wed couples are plentiful. Among the many suppliers that keep amassing the wedding fair booths; apart from venues, catering, make-up, and couture, is photography. Of course, what’s a wedding without having any documentation of those memorable moments of your special occasion. The development and obtainability of digital cameras have paved the way for many photographers to set up shop.

“Prenup photo shoots have really come a long way. From simple studio sessions, prenups have evolved into semi-grand productions that rival, and sometimes even surpass, some ad or magazine shoots. Location shoots are all the rage now with couples having their prenups at vacation spots here and out of the country. Adventurous couples collaborate with their photographers and constantly push the envelope when it comes to exciting concepts for their prenup. The resulting shoot may range from quirky to romantic, but they are always personal.” Points and Clicks: Prenuptial photo shoot basics revealed by Zoe Gabe (Manila Bulletin)

Perhaps our grandparents and parents are not too familiar with the pre-nuptial photo shoot. But nowadays, it has become a ubiquitous trend. Couples give as much attention to their prenuptial photo shoot as importantly as any other aspect of their wedding. Through time, photography suppliers have found ingenious ways to make a prenuptial shoot even more exciting and enjoyable for the wedding party. They  tap stylists and produce props to the extent of providing a set to cater to the different interests of soon-to-wed couples. Photographers and couples have upped the standards of these photo shoots every year, and have truly become a must for every wedding.

Suit Yourself With Stress-Free Styling

Sometimes, dressing up for work, gathering, or any event can be such a fuss for a woman and days come that we, ladies, wish to take a break from the pain of carefully assembling an astounding mix of clothes and fashion accessories. On some occasion, we’ll always be happy with putting on easy but pretty wardrobe without going that much hassle.
One thing caught my eye , Luanne Dy — one of the beautiful correspondents of Unang Hirit on GMA 7 — was wearing a remarkable neckpiece that glistens over her simple coral-colored dress.

I looked closely and recognized it as Malaya — a refined collection made by Palamuti by PJ Valenciano in commemoration of the Independence Day we all celebrated last June. The shades of Malaya reminded me of the colors of our flag which gave me a feeling of representation. Proudly Filipino, I must say.

I made a mental keynote: a simple dress + an attractive statement necklace = Voila! An appealing guise of unpressured get-up! Surely, this necklace alone can dress up your attire. You can just simply grab the plainest of all pieces in your wardrobe and match it with an eye-catching necklace. It’ll make you a fashion icon, in your world, in no time.
