Letters to Calypso

 and I sit still by the sea at night
waiting for the waves to take me to her arms

let me dance with the ripple
take me where the tide ends
take me home my love

A day before my birthday, I made Letters to Calypso, a piece inspired by my love for the sea.

I wanted to spend my birthday at the beach and surf, but “work” demands a lot from me lately. 

I find solitude in creating accessories as much as when I paddle out for a surf. Every now and then, I make pieces with one goal in mind, to create and tell a story; stories of women who inspire me, who may exist in reality or in my imagination or  of places I’ve seen even those in my dreams. - PJV
