Spring Takes

The last Fall Season gave us the proper “plaid” look, but for Spring 2015, it’s all about being vibrant, sexy, and creative.
Seventies Style Icon
Stevie Nicks, artist, musician, unique.
We were inspired by the seventies music icon Stevie Nicks, “The Reigning Queen of Rock and Roll”.  An accomplished solo artist, with over forty Top 50 hits and 140 million albums sold, she is perhaps best remembered as comprising half the female vocals for the legendary British-American rock band, Fleetwood Mac. With the release of what is considered to be Fleetwood Mac’s greatest album, Rumours in 1977, came two of Stevie Nicks most well written songs.
Stevie Nicks is an accomplished song writer and performer.
Dreams” was written in seclusion from the band by Nicks in about ten minutes, and was recorded the very next day.  Initially, a fellow band member described the song as “boring”, but after adding three completely new sections of harmony, the song “completely changed” and the true magic of “Dreams” lives on forever.
Her eccentricities fuel her passion for life, love, and her craft.
During that final take of the song “Goldust Woman”, written by Stevie Nicks, she had wrapped her head with a black scarf. The purpose of which was to veil her senses, allowing her to draw, unburdened by distractions, memories and emotions deep within her psyche. Unconventional methods were used during the recording, including an electric harpsichord with a jet phaser, and a band member breaking sheets of glass to accentuate Stevie Nick’s voice.

”He tried to do it on cue, but it was difficult. Eventually, we said, ‘Just break the glass,’ and we fit it all in." –Stevie Nicks

Spring Trend: Chambray vs Denim
Pair a layered necklace with your chambray sundress
Chain Necklace by House of Adorno
Chambray and denim are fabrics wherein one looks so much like the other; that they are often confused to be exactly the same fabric.  The denim fabric typically has a lighter color to its underside, whereas the chambray will appear much more similar to its face side.

Mix-and-match your accessories with pastel colours this season
We decided to go with a chambray dress this spring, since the lighter chambray is more suited for a casual look.

By pairing this colored dress with a custom-made layered necklace, it’s easy to reimagine this look depending on varying elements such as high slits, drop waists, and shirtdresses. Have a blast mixing and matching clothes that you already have in your closet. The trick is to use accessories that complement your chosen chambray attire for that easy-casual look.
Accentuate your true beauty, feelings, and style with the vibrancy of Spring.
Customized vs Retail
Every woman loves to wear jewelry for the most part, but not every accessory can be a complementary piece to your personal style. Retail stores offer easy access, and some of their pieces are conceptualized by the most brilliant designers in the business. However, there are instances when having something custom-made with YOUR design preferences, is the best way to complete a certain look that you have in mind. Take advantage of handmade accessories that can be designed and tailored to suit your taste in outfits. Be bold, and don’t be afraid to go to a whole new level of by having a piece that’s emotionally connected to your being. You don’t have to go against popular trends, but you can most certainly tweak the design of a particular piece to celebrate your uniqueness; which is what fashion truly is about.
