Denim Bohemian Belt

Summer gives an opportunity for you to wear brightly colored accessories. This particular project commissioned for Ms. Lorena, was a belt combining dark colored denim and summer colored beads with thread lining to give the belt a summer casual feel. The warm colored materials popped out when sewn on dark denim. Instead of using buckles, we used wood buttons for adjustments. The wood buttons became part of the design, instead of being a separate element to the belt.

In the past, men and women wore belts simply as support for trousers and other articles of clothing. Nowadays, belt wearing has become a fashion statement in its own rite. It can give your outfit the needed lift or accent, as Ms. Lorena shows how her Denim Bohemian Belt gives her neutral colored outfit an "oomph" factor.

We used fresh water pearls and wood as the main materials for the embellishment.

This summer, you can also get in touch with your arts and crafts side, and make your own denim bohemian inspired belt. This video will help you get started with your DIY belts!
