All White Summer Fashion

Hairpiece & Slave Bracelet by Stephanie Lopez

Everybody has a white shirt lying around. They occupy a special place in the closet, since white is a color that can symbolize a great many thing. For some, the absence of any form of print or color highlights the technical details and fit of a garment; the very essence of fashion. For others, the somewhat grungy white shirt is one of the easiest things to hacks when getting the perfect look. Wear them with your work trousers, and suddenly you simply feel more special. The all white look is crisp, clean, and is very appropriate for bright sunny days.

White evokes a feeling of being pure and empty, almost devoid of emotion, yet so full of possibilities. You should be able to create your very own imprint to an ensemble by projecting your personality and feelings to a mostly white canvass.

Here are some ways on how to pull off that all white look.

Hope for the Flowers- Wire Art

Our focus  on developing and enhancing our bead embroidery techniques has left us with little time to devote to wire art. Last month gave us another opportunity to revisit this fascinating technique.

Hope for the Flowers
The Hope for the Flowers necklace is our main piece inspired by last  March's celebration of International Women’s Month. The main technique used for this piece is wiring, combined with wrapping exposed wire in chiffon fabric. As a finishing touch, we added agate stones and blue green acrylic crystals. We hope this piece represents every woman just as “Palamuti” was made by a woman, inspired by women, for every woman.”

HOW TO WEAR IT: Since there are a lot of things going on this piece, it's best to wear this accessory over plain tees, camisoles, and dresses. Maxis with round, scoop, boat or even crew necks, peasant off the shoulder and tubes are great matches too. If you want to pair it with a colored top, choose a color that can be found on the necklace, and use it as your reference. This is a great summer necklace that shouts out the colors of the season.

Palamuti Fun To Beat The Summer Sun

To all the fashion enthusiast who loves “layering clothes” like me, we find this weather a real killer of our fashion goals. I have given up my dainty cardigans and opted for just a pair of tank tops and shorts in order to stand the scorching heat. However, I see my style going down straight to the drain. In this dilemma, fashion experts suggest making use of accessories to save your dying fashion statement.

Take a look at Palamuti by PJ Valenciano’s “Imelda for Summer” collection. I saw the necklaces and I flared up saying “Perfect!” in my delight. The necklaces are handcrafted with glass beads and they were sewn in cool colors suitable for my summer tops. I can even choose from one strand to two or even three braided strands available. Plus, they also have Imelda bracelet line if you want to match things up!

If you’re heading to the beach and getting into a more fun vibe, check out Palamuti by PJ Valenciano’s “Summer Maiden” collection to give your summer clothes a boost – may it be a day with the waves or an evening gimmick by the shore. I like the feather earrings which complements the breezy outfit I have in mind.

For a more refined look, you can choose the Palamuti by PJValenciano’s “Corazon” collection made of agate beads and mother of pearls or you can try any of the “Daily Palamuti” must haves. They are great for color pops for your causal get-ups. For cuff lovers, you must not miss the variety of cuffs in lovely hues that’ll surely bring out the wow factor in you.

See? Don’t let your summer woes bring your fashion down. Just stick by Palamuti by PJ Valenciano and you’ll be alright!

Summer is just a stone throw away. It's about time to start stocking up your dresser in preparation for the upcoming hot season. Despite the heat, you girls will definitely love to play around the pastel beat with the Mayumi Summer Collection embellished necklaces from Palamuti by PJ Valenciano!

I’m sure, plenty of girls like me will adore the sherbet-hued bib necklaces carefully handcrafted by local artisan PJ Valenciano. These pieces are quite flattering on soft cotton tops and breezy lightweight dresses. Made from assortments of German crystal beads, cut beads, seed beads, and Malachite stones, these custom jewelries are laid perfectly on black suede cloth which makes it easy to wear and comfortable to use.

The collection was inspired by flowers in bloom that usher the spring season to summer. These necklaces vary in soft-toned colors which give off a fun and fresh look perfectly suited for every girl who loves summer fashion.

a taste for tribal

A few days ago, we talked a little bit about the Tribal trend that is sweeping THE WORLD! I don't want to oversaturate you with all this gushing, but the ethnic/tribal trend is really one of my favorites.  In the last few years, it has been getting stronger and stronger, particularly during the warmer seasons, and it looks like it has no plan of stopping!

Another great thing about this trend, apart from the beautiful colors and bold and intricate patterns, and the boost it gives to tribal communities, is that it is so easy to incorporate them into ANY wardrobe. seriously!

There are so many versions out there to suit your needs.  If you're a simple gal, you can go with a big statement piece, or something with subtler tribal hints to dress up your minimalist wardrobe.  In fact, this makes the look stronger and really helps the ethnicity of the piece shine through!

You can also go the "traditional" tribal route, which means layering the prints and colors.  For the longest time, we've always been hesitant to use more than one print in an outfit.  But whenever you see the Ifugaos up in the mountains, or even the Badjaos who are playing on the streets in modern clothes styled according to their taste, the explosion of color is always a pleasant surprise.
Girly? Rocker? Serious, no-frills type?  There's a tribal girl in you, roaring to be unleashed. Roaring, get it? eh, oh well!  The joke may be the lame, but the trend is far from it.  Enjoy!  And watch out for the upcoming Gameng ni Maria collection for summer! it's gonna be H-O-T!!!!

Never Out of Fashion

It's summer! Time to hit the beach if not at least bask under the sun. Add a little spice to your outfit with accessories that has natural and organic touch. Try mix and match accessories made out of organic materials to give accent to your sundress or to your overall summer wardrobe.

* Reference: New Trends in Summer Accessories by Kendra Van Wegner
1. Seashells
Basic pearls are always classic, but keep your eye out for other sea-inspired pieces that are sure draw attention. Simple necklaces featuring a large shell-like jewel are always elegant. Another great way to wear this trend is by selecting shoes decorated with shells. Either way, this look is a great way to welcome summer.

2. Wood and Leather Accessories
Wood and leather accessories are a great way to capitalize on the natural-inspired trend without going overboard. Look for necklaces with large, wooden beads to add a carefree, boho touch to your wardrobe. If you're looking for an edgier look, try a wide leather belt adorned with metal studs. Avoid wearing too many accessories at once. Choose one piece that works best with your wardrobe, such as a bold necklace paired with a simple tank top or a rugged belt worn with your favorite jeans. The key here is to look low-fuss, so be careful not to overdo it.

3. Stone Jewelry
Accessorizing with rock and stone jewelry is a great way to add a punch of color and drama to your wardrobe, but still keep with this season's natural outlook. Some designers are offering great artificial stones in vibrant colors or intriguing motifs. If you prefer the real deal, look for styles made from obsidian, amethyst, or jade. For truly unique pieces, contact local artisans or dealers for handcrafted and locally made jewelry.
